Why does chris moyles

Experts criticised him for glamourising binge drinking, but Radio 1 said his remarks were "just banter". They just seem to pass through there on their way to Florida. However, we regret that on this occasion his comments were misjudged and we are speaking to Chris and his team about them.

Moyles's pay packet has sparked controversy throughout his career. In , Moyles launched a half-hour rant on air complaining that he had not been paid for two months , accusing BBC bosses of a "huge lack of respect" and a "massive FU to me". Then Radio 1 controller Andy Parfitt said he spoke to Moyles over the incident but he had not been reprimanded because he had not "crossed the line". Chris Evans was less forgiving, saying that Moyles had "lost perspective" and should leave. On 12 January , rappers N-Dubz appeared on Moyles's show.

A text message came in from a female listener saying that Dappy was "vile" and "a little boy with a silly hat" and that the act were "losers". Dappy reportedly copied her phone number from the studio console and sent threatening text messages the following day including one telling her she was "gonna die!

Radio star Chris has recently been in the headlines no end for his remarkable 5st weight loss since quitting Radio 1, where he was the station's self-proclaimed "saviour". Appropriately given the nickname, the year-old presenter appeared in Jesus Christ Superstar before surprising everyone by taking the breakfast show at Radio X.

The station, owned by a company run by his former flatmate Ashley Tabor, was some way down the listenership table to the BBC giant, but has found a wider audience since he arrived. Dave and Chris have long been rumoured to have fallen out, with the pair said to have held separate leaving parties when they left Radio 1.

The beef is thought to be about Chris' closeness to Dave ex-wife Jayne Sharp. And of course Dave didn't join him on the new station. However, he's since moved on to commercial radio too, after 16 years at Radio 1, hosting a show alongside Gemma Arterton on Hits Radio in Manchester and helps to make videos and podcasts for a company in London.

Radio 1 listeners were first introduced to Aled as the "tea boy", even though he quickly emerged as the mastermind of the show behind the scenes. He is definitely jumpy about the press. His eyes, dark brown and unreadable at the best of times, turn almost black. I listened to, then watched, that programme on the BBC red button, and it was a genuine tour de force. Anyway, Comedy Dave. Dave — who now co-owns a successful TV production company — has been replaced by another bloke called Dave.

The big falling out between the two supposedly occurred when original Dave split up with his wife, Jayne Sharp, and Moyles was photographed soon after with Sharp, apparently on holiday. He and Dave were still working on the radio show together every morning at the time. Some have said that the Radio 1 bigwigs were so worried about the Moyles-Dave on-air situation that they hurried Nick Grimshaw into the breakfast show slot a year earlier than planned.

When I ask about Dave, it becomes clear that there was — is — a problem. Moyles freezes and becomes almost monosyllabic. Did he not come to Radio X with you because you went on holiday with his ex-wife?

I ask. The other time I get short shrift is when I ask him about his current love situation. The joke with the kick. It used to be true. After he left Radio 1 in , he went straight into rehearsals for Jesus Christ Superstar , as Herod, and the experience had a strong effect on him.

And he met Tim Minchin , who was playing Judas, and they became great pals. Minchin, a musician, comedian, singer, writer and songwriter, seemed to inspire Moyles. But what did he want to do? We move on to money. He once berated the BBC on air for not paying him. Still, it worked and he was paid. He had two years off before Radio X came calling and it seems to have calmed him down.

His life is streamlined, so that he only does radio, keeps fit, sees his girlfriend and writes. And he still does his radio show, which he is loving.
